User Story:
As a Editor
I want to add free descriptions to each invoice/quote item
So that it is possible to write individual invoices/quotes

Description:
WP Invoicing has fixed items by default which are saved with an “Excerpt” in an Items list. The excerpt can not be seen or edited if an item is aded to invoice/quote. This is inflexible..

As an Agency we do not want to have hundreds of similar items with excerpts which are needed for one invoice/quote only. It would be better for us if each Item would have an additional field “Individual description” which can be used in the edit screen of an invoice/quote and its content is only for this explicit invoice/quote.

As a result we could have for example an item “Onsite SEO Optimization” with an optional Excerpt “Text review and text changes.” and an optional Description “We have done ____ and ____.” If i add this Item to an Invoice/Quote i see a prefilled description field. Now i can edit the prefilled Description text which is individual for this concrete Invoice item on this particular invoice only. Same for Price: it should be editable per item.

Your thoughts?
Maybe a whole new Item type is needed to accomplish this. What you guys are thinking about that?

I guess we could add an excerpt field to the invoice too.

That way “Onsite SEO Optimization” would be the item description and you could add an extra unique description for each invoice.

Would that work? If yes, I’ll check with the developers if it is feasible (I think it is) and if we can implement this in the next version.

If you mean “an unique description for each line item of the invoice” that would be what i mean. Also i need to change/override the price, because we are a service based agency and some items do not have fixed prices for each client and/or project.

I meant one per invoice, not one per item. I’ll let Stiofan look into your request.

Also for the overriding of item prices.

Hi Marco,

I am very sorry, this seems to have slipped past me.

We do add some description dynamically in our other plugins like GeoDirectory. My fear would be that this might interfere with that.

We can either take a look at it and see if its something we want to merge into the core plugin for you or if you want to sell it yourself you can post in on https://geodirectoryexperts.com/
