So on the previous set up when people made initial payment via PayPal for the advert it set to auto-renew. On the expiration date, PayPal would take the subscription payment, this would be picked up by the GD system with a “Renewal of Listing…” email sent to me by the GD system, and the listing remained live on the site continuously.
Since upgrading to WP Invoicing yesterday, it seems that although the existing subscription payments are being made via PayPal, these are somehow not being linked to the new WP Invoicing system so I’m having to log in and renew them manually as they then show as expired (previously they would remain published and only move to ‘expired’ status if the renewal payment was skipped or cancelled).
The existing subscription payments that have been received by PayPal seem not to be being picked up by the WP invoicing plugin. I have only received their notification of the payment from PayPal, NOT from the WP system telling me such and such person has been auto-renewed by email or their listing status being updated with a renewed expiration date and remaining published.
Is there a way to link existing subscription payments to the WP Invoicing plugin so they remain published and auto-update the new expiry date or something I have missed on setting the plugin up as otherwise this just is a pain and gives me heaps more work to do with a plugin that’s supposed to be an improvement to the system!!
Thanks

October 13, 2017 at 7:17 am #562Ok thanks, have updated all plugins just now so will wait for a subscription payment to come in and see if it has made a change. Thanks
October 13, 2017 at 3:14 pm #568No, sorry the update makes no difference. I have had two auto-renewal subscriptions paid today and both have still changed to expired and not linked the payment to the listing in order to retain it on the site.
In addition, on newly created listings/ subscriptions, on the PayPal confirmation I’ve noticed it does not now tell me which listing the payment is for just the package they have selected (see the two images attached- first my notification emails from PayPal, the other on my PayPal account showing the previous system as ‘before’ and ‘after’ with new plugin). Previously the ‘for’ element would show the full listing title making it easy to find on the listings admin to renew/ approve etc using the search function but now there is no easy way to link the payments from PayPal to which listing they are for as it no longer records this on the transactions.
With previous listings (i.e those created prior to the new plugin), I can select any transaction on my PayPal account and see which listing it is for in the ‘Memo’ section. Now, this is no longer possible and it just shows the level of advertising they have chosen.
It seems there is an issue with the new plugin picking up the payments in relation to the listings as from what I can see- although it is achieving the function of taking the payment and telling me- it is not updating the listings (i.e not relating payments to the relevant listing and renewing the expiry date) and not retaining a record when it communicates with PayPal as to what listing each payment is for???
Thanks

I see what you mean re there being no content to the invoices showing on WP the admin even though it lists details- perhaps this is the issue? However, on the user side of things when they are logged in and click on ‘invoicing history’ it shows the invoice and payment AND shows which listing it is for so I am therefore unsure how the same information is not shown on the WP admin or linked to the PayPal payment in order to renew the listing!
I have not set up access for invoices and couldn’t see an option to- is this under the WP Invoicing plugin settings?
The main thing I don’t understand is how it is taking the payment but not linking to the listing which is the biggest issue as makes loads more work for me!?
Thanks
October 18, 2017 at 5:01 pm #624When i first went you your site i had to enter a captcha, what is adding that, it might be blocking the IPN.
Please provide FTP info also and i’ll checkout the invoices not apearing problem.

October 19, 2017 at 12:55 pm #626Visiting the actual site or visiting the admin pages? More times than not I have to enter a captcha to access the WP admin and I’m not sure why.
There is a GeoDirectory Re-Captcha plugin on the site which is activated? Not sure if this is the reason?
Can you advise where I find FTP info and I can locate to send to you…
Thanks
October 19, 2017 at 1:15 pm #627The recaptcha thing is not from us, i am guessing its a hosting thing, hopefully its not affecting the IPN calls.
For FTP info please contact your host, it is probably in your hosting control panel.

October 26, 2017 at 1:42 pm #667If you’re able to contact the hosts directly that would be great as FTP etc is really beyond the realms of my understanding!
I have 3 or 4 auto-renewals that will be made (assuming their payment is successful) in the next couple of days.
Thanks
